As I struggle to resurrect my personal website for the third time, I can’t help but think that it’s probably a stupid idea and a waste of money. After all, why do I need a website? Why do I need anything for that matter?

I want to start a blog. No, I want to start a newsletter. After 3 years of sending weekly update emails on Patreon I’ve realized that I like the habit of writing something each week for people to read. But the weekly update post is just that – a weekly update. Sure, I try to include little things I enjoy (movies, TV shows, recipes, etc.) but that’s not what people are really reading it for. So that’s why I want to start a newsletter. Because I like writing and I like learning about all sorts of random stuff that I know other people like learning about because when I tell them in person, well, they like it. So why not try to do the same thing with an online audience?

At the end of the day, even if no one reads it, my writing will surely get better, no?

Anyway. That’s my plan. Now to figure out how to get this website working…
